The Scala IDE for Eclipse beta 2 available now!

We are happy to announce that, less than three weeks after the first beta release, we take a second step towards a 2.0 release of the Scala IDE for Eclipse. This release fixes a number of issues. Read below for more.
- Fixes various crashes in the structure builder, leading to un-editable files in Eclipse
- Correctly saves preferences for the diagnostics window
- Correctly show bean getters/setters in mixed Java/Scala projects
- Performance improvements in structured selection
- New formatter preference window, with preview
- Format selection only
- Better memory usage when closing projects
- Allow compiler plugins in the presentation compiler
- other bug fixes
There are 15 tickets fixed since the first beta. The complete list is available here.
You can install the new release by pointing Eclipse to the following update site:
http://download.scala-ide.org/releases/wip_experiment-2.0.0-beta2
As the previous release, this one is built against the 2.9.0 branch of the Scala compiler and requires at least Eclipse 3.6 (Helios)

Is it possible to port non-Eclipse-specific improvements over to IntelliJ's Scala plugin or is there some OSGi stuff involved that makes it impossible?

Do you know if we can Debug a scala application, my installation (Eclipse 3.6.2, Jvm 1.6.0_24) complaint that the Line Number are missing when I try to debug a Scala App (In working for "pure" java code).

Hi all,
I'm new to the Scala programming language. I'm trying to install the eclipse plugin but when the installation finishes the scala perspective does not appear in the list of perspectives. Also, I can't create a Scala project. Anyone can help me?

The blurb for this version of the Scala Eclipse IDE says that it requires at least Eclipse 3.6. Does that mean that it is also intended to work with recent 3.7 milestone releases? (Would be nice, since the release of Eclipse 3.7 Indigo is only a few months away.)

Dependency tip
To install this plug-in, one has to install AJDT (http://www.eclipse.org/ajdt/downloads/) earlier.

Any updates when there will be a scala plug-in, even beta, for Eclipse Indigo (3.7)?
