I am having troubles using fsc, the Fast Scala Compiler, on Macintosh OS X

The Fast Scala Compiler maintains some code resident in memory and uses a network connection in order to communicate with it; the OSX firewall might interfere with this communication. In order to configure the firewall accordingly, please follow this guide [1].
