Oakwood Controls is currently searching for software developers in the
Washington DC area. We are a relatively new company developing
hardware and software products focused on the integration of legacy
and future sensor systems into networked environments in a variety of
contexts. We also have a growing services portion of the company that
provides on-site software development support in the Washington DC
area.

Our development involves the use of many languages including C++,
OCaml, and Scala. We transitioned from using Java to using Scala over
a year ago and have a substantial amount of production and delivered
software written in Scala. Our ideal candidate would have the
following characteristics:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, or math
- 1 to 2 years of experience in professional software development,
preferably using JVM based languages in server based environments.
- Some experience in functional programming. Not requiring an expert
level programmer but should not fear recursion.
- Proficient in development under Linux (our primary platform) or
MacOSX. We do VERY little Windows programming and project to do even
less in the future.
- Knowledge of programming for resource constrained, embedded platforms.
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Northern VA area and
work on site at our customer facility.
- Must be an American citizen and able to hold a security clearance
