About an hour ago, Tony Morris posted the following into IRC:

18:42 < dobblego> Dear All,
18:42 < dobblego> Thank for your patience in recent times. I am notifying you all of my resignation
from this life. I sincerely apologise for the distress this may cause, but please
also understand that the suffering which I currently endure is far less comforting.
I have enjoyed 29 of my 31 years on this planet and I do not – like so many others –
expect an afterlife. Thank you for the fun times that I have shared with so many of
                  you.
18:42 < dobblego> Goodbye.
18:42 < dobblego> PS: I have an osteochondral defect on the front of the articular surface of my talus
causing obstruction on dorsiflexion – please confirm this on autopsy.

Since then we've been trying to get in touch with him and/or anyone who can help. We've managed to contact the police in what we hope is the right area - we're very uncertain about his exact physical location. We've contacted the Brisbane and Gold Coast police (we have an old whois address for tmorris.net:  Tony Morris, 31/38 Archipelago St,  Gold Coast, QLD 4211  AU. We're 90% sure it is no longer current but have no better information!)

We've tried calling his mobile to no avail. We're currently trying to get in touch with hospitals and doctors who we believe may have treated him recently in the nearby area.

If you have any details that may help get in touch with him or someone who can help, please let us know.

David

Re: URGENT: Please read if you have any information about Tony M
The following is a log of everything we've figured out in #scala since then. Hopefully it may be of help:

18:42 < dobblego> Dear All,
18:42 < dobblego> Thank for your patience in recent times. I am notifying you all of my resignation from this life. I sincerely apologise for the distress this may cause, but please also understand that the suffering which I currently endure is far less comforting. I have enjoyed 29 of my 31 years on this planet and I do not – like so many others – expect an afterlife. Thank you for the fun times that I have shared with so many of you.
18:42 < dobblego> Goodbye.
18:42 < dobblego> PS: I have an osteochondral defect on the front of the articular surface of my talus causing obstruction on dorsiflexion – please confirm this on autopsy.

All,

As an update to everyone who is assisting looking for Tony:- Tony's family are fully aware of the situation and have been contacted. Police are assisting with the matter, but as of yet Tony is un-contactable.

He has taken his motorbike; if anyone can suggest where he might be please email me or brad.clow@workingmouse.com and we will forward the information on.

I will miss him in the web (which is, as you know, the real life).

If this is true (and I have no reason not to believe this), I must confess
that people like "Dr Hibbert", now reported as 'null110' in this thread,
who spread such awful lies, are really an a_s_s*h-o-l-e .

(Sorry for my wording, as I normally do never use those in public forums).
