Hi guys!
What book would you suggest to start out with Scala? Stuff listed here
- http://www.scala-lang.org/node/959 - seems to be a bit outdated...

How recent do you want it to be?
The main book (the top one) is December 2010 for the second edition.
Looking further down the list are EAPs (Early Access Program) books
not yet out in paper. One of them (Scala in Depth) announced a new
chapter just today.

Programming in Scala is a great book to get started with.

I highly doubt that. Josh describes many general concepts which are
unlikely to change fundamentally over the next years. Granted, there
might be changes in implicit search/type inference/..., but that's not
really the point of the book.

I can compare "Programming in Scala" by Martin Odersky, Lex Spoon, and Bill
Venners (1st edition), and "Programming Scala" by Alex Payne and Dean Wampler.
To my taste the second is much better.
