R: If I had to work in c# / f# what would I miss most?

Dear Tim,
C# is a very good language and from many points of view it is better than Java, for example take features as LINQ or autoimplemented properties... However, it completely misses an active community to rely on.
Furthermore, if you use Scala you have available those features Java is missing, plus many others, and you keep the community strength.

Hi guys,
I've used neither c# nor f# and was wondering what the major "losses"
and the benefits would be of switching development to such an
environment for reasons of interoperability with existing software.
