presentation compiler NPE in 2.9.1

Hi all,

I'm getting an odd NPE whilst attempting to compile with a compiler
created from tools.nsc.interactive.Global (see attached log).  I don't
get the error if I use tools.nsc.Global.  Any idea what might be
causing the issue?
