Cannot update nightly eclipse plug-in

That's your problem ... update to AJDT 1.6.4 (which is the current release).

...doesn't work. If i select AspectJ 1.6.3 and press "update",
eclipse says "Nothing to update", that's all....

?

OK, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the AJDT update site,

But do you actually need it? If you just want to use a nightly build
rather than building from trunk yourself, then AJDT isn't required. If
you don't need it for any other reason, then just uninstall it.

ok, thank you the update started after i uninstalled AJDT (i had it
installed since i was also experimenting with building the plug-in
from source).

but now update aborts with:

That's the correct update site URL, and I've just been able to install
into a fresh Eclipse 3.4.2. I suggest trying a fresh Eclipse install
and/or workspace.

I just have installed eclipse 3.5.0 I20090430-2300 and I am using http://www.scala-lang.org/scala-eclipse-plugin. Compiling my source on the console with scala-2.7.4.final works just fine, but within eclipse I get a couple of errors regarding the specs library, for example:

org.specs.Specification does not have a constructor.

I haven't enabled java weaving by the way.

Do you have any suggestions?

You could start by enabling JDT Weaving ...

I switched back to eclipse 3.4.2 M20090211-1700 where jdt weaving is enabled by default … but no success … it still doesn't work :(
