Hi,

I would like to know about the license for the Scala logo.
Can I use it for an Open Source project (ScalaModules)? Can I create derivatives from it?

Thanx!
Heiko

Re: Licensing question

Heiko,

The Scala logo is a trademark of EPFL. In principle we reserve all rights
to the logo, but we are happy to authorize its use for any legitimate
Scala-related application, of course.

If you need a version of the Scala logo for some specific application, just
contact me privately and let me know your requirements. As long as the
intended use is within reason, and done to promote the language, we'll be
happy to authorize it and assist you accordingly.

Also, please note that the scala-internals mailing list is reserved for
discussions about the code internals of the Scala system, compiler and
libraries by the core code committers; the Scala logo is definitely
off-topic. Please follow up this thread by contacting me privately.
Thanks!

Toni
