This vanished on the 25th ... was that intentional?

I'm not particularly sorry to see it go, but its removal means that
the scala-library OSGi manifest has to be updated accordingly.

Yeah. I've been getting rid of XML code which doesn't work, hasn't been
touched since buraq left, and is used by nothing else in trunk. I might
overshoot a little here, but I think broken unmaintained code is
inferior to non-existent code.

Ah. I'm afraid I don't know where that is - I can do it now and in the
future if you point the way (assuming I have access.)

Like I said, I'm not particularly sorry to see it go ... but are you
sure no-ones using it?

It's scala-library/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF

I'm happy to look after this for the moment ... just keep me posted
when packages are added or removed. In future the Scala modularization
working group should have something to say about managing this
automatically.

Choose one or more:

* Of course I'm sure, I personally inspected every computer in the world.
* Given the bugs I've fixed in XML, I'm sure nobody ought to be.
* No.

I'll settle for the middle one ... if you're sure it's totally busted
anyway, then there's no harm killing it.

Re: scala.xml.path?

This is the kind of thing that would need to be put in release notes.
Even if some of the library may be broken, people might have used
workarounds (or even just some datarypes) in their own code.

Was it marked as deprecated in 2.7 so that people at least had a heads
up of its upcoming removal?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a policy on how to remove
crufty code so that people know what to expect (on both sides) in the
future.

I think it would nevertheless be worth to send a message to scala
inquring whether anyone is using it.
