All,

As some of you may know I have been working on a book about Lift
called "Lift in Action" to be released at the end of the year. This
morning saw the launch of the accompanying Manning Early Access
Program (MEAP) so you can read chapters as I write them and provided
feedback through the Manning forums if you so wish.

Lift in Action is a step-by-step exploration of the Lift web
framework. Part one gives you a firm grounding in Lift concepts and
introduces Lift (and Scala's) eco-system of tools. Throughout the
course of part two, we will be building a sample application that
covers most of the key concepts within the framework and shows you how
to implement them. Part three is an in-depth reference to all the
components that make up Lift; from HTTP dispatching through to
sophisticated Comet and AJAX. This book is intended for users who are
new to both Scala and Lift, but should also provide valuable insights
for developers who are already using Lift in the wild.

The MEAP can be found over on the Manning site:
http://manning.com/perrett/

I hope to see some of you in the Manning forums soon :-)

Cheers, Tim

Re: [ANN] Lift in Action gets MEAP
Hi,

I assume it covers Lift 2.0?

Cheers,
Daniel

But of course.

The book will track snapshot during its development and most likely be
published against Lift 2.5 or 3.0 (as 1.0 -> 2.0 only took so long
because of scala 2.8 delays)

Thanks to all for the kind wishes!

I hope you will follow along with my progress and the book serves as a useful guide for introducing people to Lift and Scala!

Cheers, Tim
