Crash in "new editor" - eclipse - 2.7.3final

If you want to see two files side by side in eclipse you can just drag the tabs but if you want a split view on one file there's a menu command "New editor." When I click it, it seems to come up for a moment but then the entire editor (all tabs) closes. Nothing in error log or console.

Yes, this is a known problem. I think it should be on Trac already ...
if not would you mind creating a ticket for it?
