Folks,

We've got a star-studded line-up and excellent door prizes at the Scala Lift Off in San Francisco, to be held on September 24th (the Friday after JavaOne/Oracle Open World).

The Scala Lift Off is a friendly community event for everyone - from those just “checking it out” to recognized experts who have been developing Scala, Lift, Akka, etc. for years. This diversity means you can learn everything you need to know about any aspect of the Scala language or the Lift Web Framework.

There is no pre-set agenda for the conference, attendees go through a facilitated process to create the agenda live at the event. We encourage those with applied knowledge to prepare sessions so they can share some of what they know. Those new to the language can pose questions about what they want to learn about.

HarryH from Foursquare and Daniel Spiewak and David LaPalomento from Novell will be kicking off the day by discussing using Scala and Lift at scale, in production.

The kind folks at ZeroTurnaround will be giving a copy of JRebel to everybody who attends the Scala Lift Off in San Francisco.

Sign up for the Scala Lift Off today at http://scalaliftoff.com/eventInfo/sanFrancisco.htm  The price goes up by $50 on September 1st.

The Scala Lift Off in London will be held on October 7th and 8th.

Martin Odersky will be kicking off the London Scala Lift Off.

I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting lots of folks from the Scala, Lift and related communities (did someone say Akka?  Yeah, Jonas will be at the Scala Lift Off in San Francisco) at one or both of these events.

Rock on!

Thanks,

David
