build.number on trunk vs. 2.8.x?

I've just noticed that build.number on trunk is identifying the build
as 2.8.0.alpha, which is resulting in the trunk builds being pushed to
the scala-tools repo being identified as 2.8.0-SNAPSHOT. OTOH
build.number on the 2.8.x branch has been updated to 2.8.1.alpha which
means that the resulting Maven artifacts are identified as
2.8.1-SNAPSHOT.

Presumably at least one of these is wrong?

Cheers,

Miles

Yes, if the target of trunk is 2.9, then the build should be 2.9.alpha.   Otherwise SBT/Maven users will get odd results if they attempt to use nightlies.
