All first posts from new subscribers are moderated ... this policy
eliminates spam completely in my experience.

I've only just seen your messages (I need to sleep occasionally ;-),
and they've been approved, so they'll now show up on the list now and
your subsequent posts will go straight through.

I had the same situation and was wondering. This thread was timely. My
first email (on 9/10) to this group was on the subject "[scala-user]
Best free IDE for Scala?" and after a day since I didn't see any
responses, I reposted (on 9/11) it again, and saw the responses.

One more question: The posts I do to this group, won't it appear in my
Inbox?

It's an ordinary mailing list like any other.

I see that you're using gmail ... I think it tries to avoid having
your own messages appear in your inbox.

That is a setting in your gmail account. Normally you don't see your
own messages but you can change that in your settings.
