Migrating mailing lists to google groups
Tue, 2010-12-14, 15:09
We have decided to move all scala mailing lists from listes.epfl.ch to google groups. The main advantages that we see with this move is that it will make the lists easier to find, easier to manage, and easier to read. In particular, google groups gives you a variety of options how to read a list: web-only, digests, or individual messages.
What will happen next week:
- For each of the lists scala, scala-user, scala-announce, and scala-internals, a google group will be created with the same name.
- Readers of an existing Scala list will be automatically subscribed to the corresponding google group. The default reading mode for moved subscribers will be by daily digest. If you want a different reading mode or want to unsubscribe alltogether, you'll be able to do that with the google groups interface.
- Once the move is done you will receive a message informing you of the details.
- Messages to any of the existing EPFL mailing lists will be forwarded for the time being to google groups. We will shut down the EPFL mailing lists by the end of February 2011.
I hope these measures will ensure a smooth move. And I hope you'll stay with us on google groups!
Thanks
