"path dependant types" in French ?
Mon, 2011-01-31, 12:09
Excuse me for the strange question, I don't really know where to ask it...
I need to introduce Scala typing and specificities in a French document,
and so I need a translation of "path dependant" type in that language.
As some members of Scala internals and Scala speak it, perhaps someone
has a "standard" translation for that ?
I could try a direct translation, but "type dépendant d'un chemin" is at
best awful and more or less meaningless...
Of course, I tried to find a translation, but it seems that French is
not used a lot in academic papers :)
Thanks for anyone able to help me,

I'm not the best person to ask, but I would note that graph theory in
French uses a simple "chemin" with no adjective:

Yes, I don't know why in that context, it doesn't sound strange...
Perhaps just because I'm used to "chemin" for path in graph due to year
of hearing respectful teacher talking about it, and that it is just not
the case for types...
I will write 1000 times "types dépendants du chemin" and see how I feel
after that :) But now, I really want to ask "but the path from where to
where ?".

So, I wondered what was the French translation for "file path", and it
seems to be "Chemin d'accès au fichier", so adding an adjective seems ok...
I will go for "types dépendant du chemin de définition", but I hope I
won't have to write it too many times.
Cheers,
