Please see the attached screenshot, it pretty much illustrates the whole problem.  In a nutshell: I'm seeing an empty update site.  The site resolves, but that's it.

I've just tried it again exactly following the instructions on the
Wiki and it installs in 3.5M5 just fine.

Can you give us a bit more detail about what you're seeing at your end
when you try?

Cheers,

OK, this seems to be a new feature of p2 in Eclipse 3.5 ... I'm not
quite sure why I'm not seeing the same problem here.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
That worked.  The problem is that the plugin is not categorized within the update site.  Thus, unchecking group items by category does it for me.

Perhaps a bug with Equinox Aspects on Apple 64bit?

OK, this seems to be a new feature of p2 in Eclipse 3.5 ... I'm not
quite sure why I'm not seeing the same problem here.

Cheers,

Miles

It's possible. I'd suggest installing an aspects-based AJDT in Eclipse
3.5 to see if it fails similarly, but unfortunately AJDT isn't quite
ready for Eclipse 3.5 just yet.

Is this a completely vanilla Eclipse Classic 3.5M5 with just the Scala
plugin installed?

OK, this should be fixed in,

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site

It's not vanilla Eclipse, but fairly close. Most of the plugins are
just standard Ganymede stuff. I'll try with a clean install and report.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
How extremely depressing...  It would seem that a clean install works, which means that something in my configuration is conflicting.

Maybe you have already tried this, but might be worth launching your
installation that has issues with -clean to see if it helps.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
Interestingly enough, -clean sends it into an infinite loop.

I suspect that the problem stems from when I tried to manually install Equinox Aspects.  I thought this was a prerequisite to installing the new SDT (back when I couldn't see the plugin).  Oh well, I don't have a problem doing a clean re-install of Eclipse.  After all, I'm using a milestone to begin with.  :-)

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
Correction, it seems that one of my other plugins conflicts.  I'll do the clean re-install one plugin at a time (rather than in batch) to see if I can identify it.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site

Miles, perhaps you could try uninstalling the plug-in then rebooting
Eclipse, I've noticed that Eclipse loops endlessly trying to boot, the
workaround is to start with the -clean option.

Something similar also happens after the first install of the plug-in;
on the first attempt to start Eclipse it fails.

I'm using 3.4.0 with the Mercurial and Subclipse plug-ins.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
It's the Mylyn Connectors (JIRA, Trac).  Can anyone else install these in 3.5 M5 alongside SDT?

Re: Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
It's with the -clean option that it jumps into an infinite loop (at least for me).  Without it, Eclipse will crash on startup when the issue is manifesting.

Re: Non-Functioning Nightly Update Site
More specifically, it is the JIRA connector.  This is definitely some sort of conflict between SDT (or its dependencies) and the JIRA connector, since I had the latter installed and running before I tried the former.  Oh well, I don't actually need that connector for the moment, and it's possible that Mylyn 3.1 will resolve the problem.

Since there are unending possible permutations of simultaneously
installed plugins, this is an area where I _really_ need help. I would
like the Scala plugin to be a good citizen, and I think that for the
most part it is, but there's clearly something extra that needs to be
done in this case ...
